Forgotten Skillz offers hands-on workshops, outdoor experiences, and experiential education programs across Long Island. Our events explore the connections between nature, traditional skills, cultural history, craft, science, stewardship, and human ingenuity through direct participation and discovery.
Programs may take participants into the woods to learn fire-making, navigation, foraging, ecology, or wilderness skills; into the workshop to explore historic crafts and technologies; or into the past through activities inspired by the ways people have created, adapted, solved problems, and understood their world. Events are designed for a range of ages and experience levels, with opportunities for children, teens, adults, families, homeschool communities, and the general public.

Wilderness Summer Camp with Tonito Valderrama (Mattituck)
Whether your child is fascinated by nature, enjoys making things with their hands, or simply loves spending time outside, it’s a great opportunity to experience the kind of learning Forgotten Skillz is known for.

Dates: August 10–14 (Camp runs all week with daily or weekly registration; we will be there on Monday)

- $100 for Monday only (includes the Forgotten Skillz program)
- $450 for the full week
Throughout the week, campers enjoy a variety of activities including nature and Native arts, archery, team-building games, survival skills, music, and drumming, creating a fun and well-rounded outdoor experience.
