Wilderness Survival Series: Navigation – Centerport

July 12 @ 14:00 - 16:00

$50
Wilderness Survival Series - Centerport Vanderbilt - Navigation

Set on the estate of a man who circled the globe in search of knowledge, this workshop reconnects us to the original kind of exploration: reading the land with your own two eyes.

This session of Forgotten Skillz pairs two skills that work best together—navigation and trapping. We’ll spend time walking the grounds and learning how to find our way using the sun, shadows, terrain, and simple tools. Then we’ll shift into making and setting traps—deadfalls, spring snares, and basic survival designs you can set up quickly while on the move.

It’s not just about memorizing steps—it’s about understanding how these pieces fit together. Why place a trap there and not there? What clues does the land give you? How do you track and travel at the same time?

If you’ve joined us before for toolmaking or cordage, you’ll find those skills come into play here. If you haven’t—don’t worry, we’ll get you caught up.

This one’s perfect for curious teens, adventurous adults, and anyone who wants to build real skills in a setting that makes you feel like you’re walking through time.
