Bring Ancestral Wisdom to Life

Host a Forgotten Skillz workshop at your location or ours and reconnect with the skills that sustained humanity for thousands of years. Our workshops aren’t just fun and hands-on — they’re deeply rooted in cultural traditions, ecological awareness, and the timeless value of self-reliance.

Whether you’re building community, enriching a curriculum, or offering your team a day they’ll never forget, Forgotten Skillz helps people of all backgrounds discover their inner resourcefulness — one ancient tool or technique at a time.

Who We Work With

Corporate Groups: Trade screen time for survival time. Our workshops build teamwork, adaptability, and innovation by placing your staff in low-tech, high-creativity scenarios — whether it’s making fire without matches or weaving rope from natural fibers. Great for leadership retreats, company wellness programs, and team-building experiences that leave people talking.

Social Groups & Adult Learners: Want to try something new with your meetup group, adult class, or community organization? Our events give participants a chance to unplug and engage in tactile learning with history, craft, and culture. Perfect for co-ops, civic clubs, and groups seeking authentic experiences beyond the usual paint night.

Scouts & Youth Organizations: From fire-building to cordage, scouts and similar youth groups thrive on hands-on achievement. We can work with adults and leadership to bolster skills, or we can align activities with age-appropriate challenges and group values like respect for nature, safety, and resilience. Badge alignment is possible for scouts or similar organizations.

Museums & Nature Centers: Looking to bring your exhibits to life? We offer engaging demonstrations and visitor-participation workshops that tie directly into historic or ecological themes. Our background in education ensures presentations are accessible, accurate, and interactive.

Schools & Educators: We offer custom workshops for older students (typically middle school and up), aligned with New York State Social Studies Frameworks and NYSSLS. Use our programs to reinforce classroom content on Indigenous technologies, colonial life, and human-environment interaction. We also provide professional development for educators seeking to enrich their instruction with experiential learning.

Homeschool Groups: Our modular workshops are a perfect fit for homeschooling pods and co-ops. We emphasize interdisciplinary connections (science, history, and even art), and promote self-directed exploration in a guided, hands-on format. Small group sessions are available — we come to you!
